Kia ora, we’re Hedsup.
A small, agile family–run company specialising in trenching and drilling.
We are a family business that believe in compassion for others and see our employees as part of our family. We are New Zealand citizens but started our business in South Africa where we originated from 15 years ago. With almost 2 decades with combined experience in the telecommunications industry, and having worked with some of the countries biggest industry leaders we still operate at a small scale; treasuring New Zealand can do attitude. We are immigrants ourselves which we believe gives us a perspective about working in New Zealand. A country that have one of the highest ratio of SMEs in the world.
Our client companies include Chorus, Broadspectrum, Vision Stream; we are also sub-contracting.
Although a small team; working together as a team we have made a huge difference in the industry. We have a diverse group from Construction Engineering Surveyor, Horizontal Direction Drill operators, Installations Liaisons Officer, Jointers, Locators and heavy truck driver’s. We are well skilled with a combined drill experience of 30 years.
Health & safety
We are focused on Health and Safety issues, our company prides itself on being a responsible employer.
The safety of our team, contractors, customers is our priority number one. We do not just talk about health and safety but implement the Health and Safety at Work Act 2016 regulations. We keep up to date with New Zealand WorkSafe and SiteSafe regulations and plan, do, check and act on them.
We do everything in our power to prevent employees become ill or injured in the workplace. We follow guidelines to protect our workers and other persons against harm to their health, safety and welfare by eliminating or minimising risks arising from work. We protect our workers with personal protective equipment (PPE) and eliminate hazards in the workplace.
We talk openly about Mental Health and wellbeing and support employees with any concerns. We have zero tolerance for bullying and discrimination and treat everyone as equal in our company.
COVID–19
We are proud to say that we have all our employees still working for us in these difficult times. In accordance with government advice surrounding the COVID–19 pandemic we have implemented various safety measures to protect and staff and the public. We will continue to practise Health and Safety standards going forward for the protection of our community and our team. We are committed to effectively manage and abide by the rules and regulations setup by the New Zealand Government.
